Atya Gabonensis - These shrimp are a blueish colour with armoured bodies.

Native to the West coast of Africa these larger fan feeding shrimp contribute to the aquarium ecosystem by processing detritus and dead plant matter. They prefer a fast flowing well oxygenated environment as they use the fans on their front legs to filter food from the water.

Lifespan: 2-3 years

Temperature: 24-28 degrees celsius 

Tank requirements: Filter & Oxygen, Heater

Tank Mates: Any other peaceful community fish and even other shrimp such as Neocaridina.

Feeding: Good Quality Flake (preferable crushed to powder)
