Terms and conditions - IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!!

Livestock Delivery Policy​​​

​

  • Pre-delivery

  • Prepayment is required - Payment on delivery only available for local delivery, any unpaid orders will be cancelled

  • All livestock will be health checked before dispatch and any livestock not passing those checks will be withheld from your order. You will be notified and we will discuss the options available.

  • All livestock with some exceptions will be bagged using pure oxygen and packed in a poly box with 72 hour heat packs.

  • Delivery Day:

    • Orders are booked to arrive on the next available delivery day *

    • Customers must be at the delivery address on the scheduled day.

    • Deliveries must be handed to a person over 16 years of age: livestock will not be left in a safe place.

    • If delivery is missed, the courier will re-attempt later the same day.

    • Please contact us immediately if you miss your delivery.

  • Check on arrival

    • Open and check your delivery straight away. If any fish are dead on arrival, let us know the same day with clear photos of the fish in the unopened bag.

  • Suspected Incorrect Livestock

    • If you believe you have received the wrong fish or other livestock, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with clear photographs of the animals (in or out of the bag). We will review the evidence and advise on the next steps.

  • Health after delivery:

    • If a fish becomes unwell or dies within 24hrs, we may ask for water test results and details about your aquarium so we can investigate.

    • We may ask for images of any dead fish in order to identify what went wrong.

  • Refunds & replacements:

    • Requests are reviewed by us and approval depends on the evidence and circumstances. Please note that delivery charges are only refundable in the event of liability for an error being accepted by the courier.**

  • Weather & delays:

    • Extreme weather or courier delays may affect delivery. ***

    • While every effort is made to protect livestock, we cannot be responsible for delays outside our control.

  • Coverage:

    • Livestock delivery is only available to mainland UK with some exceptions. ****

  • Quarantine:

    • We recommend quarantining new fish before adding them to your main tank to protect both new and existing stock.

  • Compatibility:

    • Customers are responsible for checking livestock compatibility with existing tankmates.

  • Customer responsibility:

    • Livestock must be acclimated safely and monitored closely after arrival, we recommend floating the bags ideally in a prepared quarantine tank for 30 minutes to allow temperature equalisation. When ready for release DO NOT release the bagged water into your aquarium as the water will potentially have ammonia and nitrites from the fish travelling. Instead use a net to catch the fish over a bucket or sink and then gently place them directly into the prepared tank. We advise turning the lights off for at least 3-4 hours to give the fish a chance to acclimate thoroughly. It is common for fish to hide, lose colour or swim up and down the sides of the tank until they have settled, which may take a few days.

    • Water quality and tank conditions remain the customer's responsibility once delivery is complete.

  • Colour, pattern, and size variation:

    • Individual colours, patterns, and sizes may very between specimens.

    • Juvenile fish (typically 5-10cm) may not yet display the dominant features of adult specimens.

    • Website images are of the fish we have in stock however variations may still occur.

  • Stock:

    • The livestock on our online site is held in store at our shop, and collection in person is  available during business hours with no appointment needed.

    • Please call our shop directly for all enquiries about in-store stock.

* Deliveries are only available on Wednesdays. Thursdays and Fridays before 1pm. It is your responsibility to ensure a suitable person (over 16 years of age) is available to accept the delivery. Orders received on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be shipped for the Wednesday delivery. Orders placed before 12pm on any other day will be delivered the next day (excluding bank holidays.)

**We will investigate any claims for incomplete or incorrect deliveries directly with the courier and advise accordingly. Please note this process can take up to two weeks or ten working days to complete.

*** Where a delivery has to be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. cold weather) we will contact you to discuss options.
