Erpetoichthys Calabaricus - These are an oddball species with elongated bodies, a narrow tail and a snake like head.
Native to the waters of West and Central Africa, these fish are nocturnal and prefer a dimly lit aquarium. They are peaceful, but will predate on smaller fish at night. These fish have a pair of lungs in addition to gills and will need access to air at the top of the aquarium or they may drowned but beware - these fish are escape artists and a tightly fitted lid with no gaps or holes is essential!

Temperature: 22-28 degrees celsius
Tank requirements: Filter & Oxygen, Heater
Tank Mates: Other freshwater, peaceful fish that are larger than the reed fish's mouth. Good tankmates could include larger Gourami, Angels etc
Feeding: Will need frozen foods such as bloodworm, brineshrimp etc
