Rainbow Kribensis

Rainbow Kribensis Cichlid 4-5cm

  • Breed Information

Pelvicachromis Pulcher  - These fish have a typical cichlid body shape with red/yellow edged fins which often have two black spots to mimic eyes on theri dorsal fin and a horizontal black stripe running from the head to the tail. They have a base colour of white/silver and females will develop a red/purple belly around spawning time with the males having more elaborate finnage.

Found originally in Southern Nigeria, these cichlids prefer to live in  a large, well furnished tank to allow them space to avoid each other at spawning time as they are proflifc breeders. They are generally peaceful but can become territorial and aggressive around breeding time so it is important that they have their own territory or cave, they can also be tempted by long flowing fins so avoid guppies, bettas or long finned tank mates.
