Pethia padamya - Silver torpedo shaped fish with visible scales. Develops a red flash on the side as it matures.

Originating in Myanmar, these barbs are not as aggressive as their cousins the tiger barbs but may still nip at long finned fish. They love to form a group of 5+ and as they settle and mature can produce a neon red stripe along their flanks making them one of the more colourful of the barb genus.

Tank Mates: Other freshwater fish of a similar size and robust - no long fins or smaller fish.
