Baryancistrus Xanthellus -  These plecos have largish gold spots all over their dark bodies and a gold tipped top fin and tail.

Originating in Rio Xingu, these plecos have armour plating on the top of their bodies and so are suitable tank mates for both peaceful and aggressive fish. Plecos help to keep the tank clean by eating algae and detritus from the bottom of the tank, they are generally nocturnal. The L18 is somewhat territorial and will need places to hide along with a higher water temperature than some other plecos. Unless in a very large tank, these plecos prefer to be the solitary one of their kind.
