Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus - This fish has a long slender mainly silver body with a distinctive black horizontal line running from head to tail.

Originating from Borneo, Java, and Sumatra, these fish like to graze on algae to pick up micro-organisms. These loaches are territorial and will happily live singly or in a largish group, preferably in a well planted aquarium. They can be  aggressive if provoked or with similar shaped fish such as silver sharks, red tailed sharks etc. and are best kept with smaller species so they do not feel threatened.

Tank requirements: Filter & Oxygen, Heater

Tank Mates: Other freshwater fish of a smaller size but different shape.

Feeding: Good Quality Flake or Pellets
