Breed information
Melanotaenia lacustris - These fish have an elongated body and when coloured, display a silvery body with a horizontal darker stripe overlaid with a beautiful blue. Colours improve with age and with both sexes present but males are generally a brighter blue than females and will develop an orange band on their heads during breeding time.
Native to Lake Kutubui in Papua New Guinea, these fish are gregarious and peaceful. These fish shoal naturally and often display their brightest colours when kept in a good sized group of 5+

Tank requirements: Filter & Oxygen, Heater
Tank Mates: Other freshwater tropical fish of a similar temperament.
Feeding: Good Quality Flake or Pellet.
