Symphysodon spp. - These fish have large disc shaped bodies and come in a wide variety of colours, most of which are the result of selective breeding.

Found in the Amazon, these cichlids make a stunning addition to a large aquarium and are best kept oin a group as they are sociable. Preferring a higher temperature than your average tropical fish, they can be tricky to find tank mates for as being cichlids, they will predate on smaller fish and invertebrates. They can also be sensitive to water parameters so a well maintained tank is a must!

Tank requirements: Filter & Oxygen, Heater

Tank Mates: Other freshwater tropical fish of a similar size. Although peaceful, they can live with with semi agressive/ boisterous fish such as barbs.

Feeding: Good Quality Flake or Pellet & Frozen foods specifically for discus.
