Breed Information
Mesonauta festivus - These fish have a deep silvery body with a yellow/golden chin. They also have a long black horizontal stripe that sweeps from the eye to the back of the dorsal fin and a black spot near their tail.
Found originally in Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Peru, these cichlids are one of the most peaceful and somewhat timid so can happily coexist with some of the larger tetra, barbs and catfish as well as other peaceful cichlids providing the tank is large enough. These are a close relative of Discus and Angelfish and therefore thrive in similar conditions.

Temperature: 24-30 degrees celsius
Tank requirements: Filter & Oxygen, Heater
Tank Mates: Other peaceful fish of a similar size and temperament, no small fish.
Feeding: Good Quality Flake or Pellet.
