Apteronotus albifrons - These fish are black and feather shaped with two white concentric circles at their tail end.

Native to the waters of the Amazon and Paraguay river basins in Brazil, Ecuador, Guyana, and Peru, these fish are nocturnal and prefer a dimly lit aquarium or plenty of hiding places. They are both shy and peaceful, but may predate on smaller fish at night as adults. Due to the fragility of their fins, they should be placed with other peaceful, non nippy species.
